I am Sonja W., a sixth grade math teacher at Jones Valley Middle School. This is my twenty-first year of teaching, but my second year as a sixth grade math teacher. Middle school is.....different 😂. Aside from using electronic devices, unfortunately students many times aren't interested in the lesson. So, I am incorporating music and small snacks while they learn. I have six classes a day, with only a forty five minute period. I needed to incorporate something to keep my students on task and motivated to try to learn math. Well, music and food it is! Currently, I'm teaching adding and subtracting fractions. My students were able to use their snack to show how to either add or subtract the fractions for whole group practice. At the end of the lesson, the students ate their snack. Thank you so much for your donation. May you be blessed ten fold.","fullyFundedDate":1758636837310,"projectUrl":"project/snack-time/9502339/","projectTitle":"Snack Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2826376_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721481175087","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/s-marie"},{"teacherId":2826376,"projectId":9093649,"letterContent":"Thank you for generously donating to Jones Valley Middle School students. I want to thank the DonorsChoose committee for providing this platform. Many times, we as teachers, don't have as much support as we would like to provide real world examples for our students.
