Students were so excited they had a \"good\" pencil sharpener. I was pleasantly surprised to see students actually want to write and solve problems just because they had a cool black pencil and a sharp tip to it. \r\n\r\nMy students were getting to the point where even lead pencils were frustrating to use because they either ran out of lead or it kept breaking off. They began using pen to \"fix\" the problem but quickly figured out they would run out of space when they did errors. \r\n\r\nHaving these basic materials available has been awesome. There are no more excuses of not being able to do work for lack of pencils. But on the same note, they are not bothered by the idea of having new pencils and even some cool looking pencils in their hands.
