Whenever we celebrate a holiday, learn about a famous person in history, or learn about a new culture, we are now able to find a book from our library that will help us make connections from one text to another. Students enjoy borrowing books to read for pleasure or to advance their points in the AR program. \r\n\r\nThe best addition to my library have been the variety of \"I Can Read Books\" I now have to help my students practice reading independently. The kids like the different book characters like Biscuit, Amelia Bedelia, and Splat the Cat. I am seeing kids build their fluency, confidence, and a genuine joy for reading as they get through each book. This has helped them advance into reading chapter books as well.
