At first, I believed gamifying the classroom would simply help keep students engaged, but the impact has gone far beyond engagement. Students began returning to wholesome, collaborative board games that encouraged communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and meaningful social interaction.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding outcomes has been watching students strengthen their communication skills and build positive relationships with one another. In a world where students are often isolated by screens, these games created opportunities for face-to-face conversation, problem-solving, and shared learning experiences that brought genuine excitement into the classroom.\r\n\r\nAcademically, the games have significantly improved student understanding of geography, history, and social studies concepts. Students became more willing to participate, ask questions, and retain information because learning felt interactive and memorable. These materials gave me new ways to teach difficult concepts while helping students stay motivated and connected to the content.\r\n\r\nBecause of the materials provided through this project, I was able to create a classroom environment where students looked forward to learning and celebrated educational play. The games have become a staple in our classroom and continue to be one of the most requested activities by students.\r\n\r\nI would also like to sincerely thank General Motors for supporting classrooms like mine. Your contribution directly impacted my students by providing resources that foster collaboration, curiosity, and academic growth. Support like this helps teachers create spaces where students can thrive both socially and academically.\r\n\r\nAs we move into the upcoming school year, our class is excited to expand into more hands-on painting and creative projects. I was recently placed in a smaller classroom space, so I am continuing to find creative ways to organize and preserve student artwork as it dries after projects. Your generosity has helped make these enriching learning experiences possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and our classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1746840347671,"projectUrl":"project/globetrotting-through-games-exploring-s/9327469/","projectTitle":"Globetrotting Through Games: Exploring Social Studies with Strategy & Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Andrea Sanchez Aguirre","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8179751_orig.png?crop=1042,1042,x18,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696550809900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/aguirrelearns"},{"teacherId":8179751,"projectId":9461448,"letterContent":"Wow, this year we saw dinosaurs, Jamestown, Spanish Armadas, and so much more come to life because of donors like you. We made and recycled so many amazing projects with these cool little STEM tools. When the students first saw the Makedos, they couldn't wait to dive into their next project; and before long, they were finding creative ways to use them in everything we did. Our 6th graders' hearts truly opened up to social studies through hands-on learning, collaboration, and a lot of imagination. You didn't just fund supplies, you helped spark curiosity and confidence in a classroom full of young thinkers.\r\n\r\nAt an all-girls STEAM school, this impact goes even further. Women still make up only about 28% of the STEM workforce, which means the majority of these fields are still dominated by men. Experiences like this help change that narrative by giving girls the chance to build, create, problem-solve, and see themselves as future innovators. Because of you, my students are not just learning history, they're developing the skills and confidence to take up space in fields where they are often underrepresented. Thank you for helping us create a classroom where girls lead, explore, and imagine bigger futures.","fullyFundedDate":1756310762564,"projectUrl":"project/from-cardboard-to-civilizations-buildin/9461448/","projectTitle":"From Cardboard to Civilizations: Building History with STEAM","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Andrea Sanchez Aguirre","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8179751_orig.png?crop=1042,1042,x18,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696550809900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/aguirrelearns"},{"teacherId":7823443,"projectId":9369152,"letterContent":"On behalf of our middle school softball teams, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible support and generosity. With no dedicated budget for middle school softball, your donations filled a critical gap and made a tremendous impact on our student-athletes.\r\nThanks to you, our teams received essential equipment that allowed them to play the game safely, confidently, and competitively. When the boxes arrived, the excitement among our students was palpable—one student exclaimed, \"It's like Christmas!\" That moment of joy and anticipation was unforgettable and truly special for all of us.\r\nAmong the items received, the bats stood out—not only for their quality but for the results they helped produce. Our 7th-grade team used them throughout the season and went undefeated! Your contributions directly supported their success and helped build memories that will last a lifetime.\r\nWithout your kindness, our students would not have been well-equipped to participate in the sport they love.
