Due to your generosity, our 8th graders were able to complete many labs to prepare them for their 8th-grade science state test. \r\nTheir favorite hands-on activity was separating mixtures. They utilized the materials donated to show off their mixture separation skills. The students learned how to separate a mixture of dissolved salt or sugar in water using evaporation. Those beakers came in handy! They enjoyed using the sieves to separate mixtures that combined large and small objects. However, they especially enjoyed using the hand lenses to get a more magnified view of the materials!\r\n\r\nThese materials will be used for years and years beyond just this one activity that we did. These materials have opened the doors to doing many more activities, and your impact will be felt for many years to come.
