Each one of you has made a great impact on the lives of 45 students with Autism. The impact began in two alternate curriculum special education self-contained classes that serve students with Autism. As we saw the impact our created materials had on the students, we started to make materials for other students on the campus with Autism. Your donation facilitated our efforts and removed barriers. We were able to respond to the needs of students very quickly, from printing to laminating; our turnaround was never more than 2 days. Before your generosity, we had to wait up to two weeks to complete the cycle from printing to laminating. \r\nAllow me to give you an idea of students' progress: students' behaviors decreased, transitions are easier for students, students who could not count can now count and add to 12, students can now identify rhyming families, nonverbal students are using visual communication boards to communicate and are starting to say words, families come to school once a month to participate in activities to put together materials to support their students at home (such as visual schedule, labels, communication boards, emotion boards). \r\nOn behalf of our students and families, I want to thank you for the impact you made in their lives. Students are excited to receive new, colorful materials and eagerly engage in the activities that are planned for them. I especially appreciate the big smiles we see each time students see a new material. Students like coming to school and are learning to generalize skills based on the differentiation we can provide. Your generosity has made our jobs easier and the lives of our students richer.","fullyFundedDate":1734990343631,"projectUrl":"project/support-students-in-autism-self-containe/8700737/","projectTitle":"Support Students in Autism Self Contained Classrooms","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kestenbaun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9705621"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130933","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":440,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":63.2,"schoolId":130933,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Yes Preparatory East End Elementary on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Yes Preparatory East End Elementary","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/yes-preparatory-east-end-elementary/130933"}
