The fidgets and books have become a meaningful part of our small group and therapy sessions. When my students first saw the materials, they were so excited—many of them immediately reached for the fidgets and shared how calming they felt in their hands. It opened up great conversations about self-regulation and emotions.\r\n\r\nThe SEL books have also been a wonderful way to guide discussions and help students connect with the characters and lessons. We've used them to talk about feelings, friendship, and coping strategies in a way that feels fun and safe.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue integrating these tools into our weekly sessions, helping students practice emotional awareness, mindfulness, and communication skills. Thanks to our donors, we've been able to create a more supportive, calming space where every student feels seen and valued.","fullyFundedDate":1754842664816,"projectUrl":"project/strong-minds-start-with-strong-emotions/9518381/","projectTitle":"Strong Minds Start with Strong Emotions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Banks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10101919_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y453&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753907288498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10101919"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134319","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":134319,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Yes Prep White Oak Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Yes Prep White Oak Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/yes-prep-white-oak-elementary-school/134319"}
