These materials will allow students that have been affected with Harvey to have access to materials that they may have lost or no longer have access to. After the hurricane hit, majority of our students lost their homes and came back with nothing. I did not expect them to return but when they did I immediately saw need.
My students have a strong desire to learn and have a hunger for growth.
These supplies will help them get there by providing them the resources to give it their all for their education. When the students returned from the hurricane, we found that majority of our students returned with no supplies because they got damaged or lost during the storm. My students will be using these supplies for every single subject. The classroom was also affected and partially damaged. After the repairs we found that the materials purchased such as posters, anchor charts etc. were damaged through leaks in the ceiling. The visuals from the posters chosen will allow the students to use these resources to their benefit.
