We just participated in the nation's largest student led farmers market, where my students were awarded the \"Most Garden Team Spirit\" award. There were over 50 schools at the market. The snacks, flexible seating, and emotional learning tools have helped transform my counseling space into a welcoming, safe environment where students feel comfortable opening up. Many of my students come in not just for scheduled sessions, but also during breaks or when they are having a difficult moment. Being able to offer a snack has been especially impactful it meets a basic need and helps students regulate before we even begin talking. \r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Many immediately commented on how comfortable the couch looked and were excited to have a space that felt different from a typical classroom setting. The snacks were, of course, a big hit. The wheel of feelings sparked curiosity right away, with students asking questions about the different emotions listed. Overall, the materials created an inviting environment that made students eager to engage.\r\n\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a meaningful difference, and I am excited to continue building on this foundation to support my students' growth and well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1768690375029,"projectUrl":"project/kims-counseling/10029525/","projectTitle":"Kims Counseling","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Palmas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10111417"},{"teacherId":7006416,"projectId":10046037,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of your generous support, this project moved from an idea into a living, growing experience - one that has had a powerful impact on our students. \r\n\r\nYour funding allowed students to build and care for a hydroponics system, explore sustainable food systems, and see firsthand how innovation can nourish people, cultures, and ecosystems - especially here in our desert community of Las Vegas. What began as curiosity quickly turned into responsibility, teamwork, and pride.\r\n\r\nThrough project-based and personalized learning pathways, students are stepping into meaningful roles as designers, historians, investigators, artists, and system managers. They are researching , creating , problem-solving , and presenting their learning with confidence. Many students who were once hesitant to speak up became leaders in their groups. Others discovering new interests in sustainability, food systems, storytelling, and environmental stewardship.\r\n\r\nPerhaps most importantly, our students growing beyond academics. They are learning how to collaborate respectfully, care for shared resources, give and receive feedback, and reflect on their own growth. Watching them explain how hydroponics works, share family food traditions, and connect sustainability to real-world challenges has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping our students see that learning can be hands-on, meaningful, and connected to the world around them.
