We were able to use it to create beautiful self-portraits. I am so proud of the students' work! They especially enjoyed using the printing ink and adding the unique patterns in the background. \r\n\r\nStudents practiced creating a gradient using the ink and brayers by putting the colors near each other and rolling the colors together using a special technique. \r\n\r\nWe displayed their beautiful art in the cafeteria for all to see. I am so proud of the beautiful work they did. And I am excited to see it on display for years to come. Students used their names to create a symmetrical design and glazed their tiles. The are beautiful! \r\n\r\nI know our students will come back to visit when they are big high schoolers, and will LOVE seeing it and it will remind them of their time at our school. They will also be in a parade in 12th grade when they graduate high school and will see it then! \r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for the supplies that you provided to make this a reality. Tiles and glaze are very expensive and we couldn't have done with without your generous donations. We have extra glaze too, so we plan to make a Legacy Mural each year! It will be fun to see the murals add color and life and to our campus, and to honor our dear 8th graders who we will miss dearly. \r\n\r\nThank you again for all your support!","fullyFundedDate":1753450208506,"projectUrl":"project/clay-program/9333576/","projectTitle":"Clay Program!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ellefson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10026439"},{"teacherId":7104671,"projectId":9244018,"letterContent":"This beautiful novel, \"Tuck Everlasting\", so eloquently presents very mature themes and makes them accessible to a younger audience. What a gift it has been to read it with my classes, thanks to your generosity! \r\n\r\nListening to my 10-year-old students discuss immortality from all angles has been astounding as they are learning to consider the darker sides of this \"superpower\" through the characters' eyes. This book also is expanding their concept of what it means to be independent versus the power of a family legacy. \r\n\r\nI also have written a novel study packet to accompany our reading of \"Tuck Everlasting.\" The questions hit all levels of reading comprehension, from basic recall and vocabulary to concepts of inferencing and theme development. Students work together to answer these questions, which include activities such as writing diary entries from the characters' perspectives to making a list of possible consequences for a character's choices. The work is making them better readers as well as deeper thinkers. \r\n\r\nMy students look forward to our daily read aloud time, where everyone sits comfortably with their book while I read the text dramatically. Then we collaborate on class discussions and answering their novel study questions. As a culminating project, students will be writing persuasive letters advertising the book's magical spring water - and the students are already looking forward to this challenge!\r\n\r\nI appreciate your generous donation which has brought this book into the hands of 116 students! All of the novels have been wrapped in plastic and take very good care of, so your donation will continue to serve future readers for many years to come! The timers, the flash cards, the daily math fact practice - they are making such an impact! As soon as the students enter my class, they take out their resources, grab a timer, and start practicing\r\n\r\nTo date, nearly a quarter of my students have become \"math fact masters\" and have learned these basic facts that are making the rest of fifth grade math accessible. This year, our school went 1:1 with Chromebooks, so I suddenly had the ability of have my entire class be on computers simultaneously. This created a new challenge: \"Who can concentrate with 30 different computers squawking at the same time?\" \r\n\r\nThe fifth grade classes at my school are departmentalized, so students rotate through four classrooms throughout the day. Prior to your generous donation of a class set of headphones, we tried multiple methods of organizing the limited amount of headphones we had. We color-coded, numbered, named and grouped them in boxes that moved from room to room throughout the day. Invariably, in every class period, students were asking to get headphones from another class, which always involved students missing valuable work time because they were searching for headphones.\r\n\r\nYour donation solved this problem overnight! Each of our four classrooms has a class set of headphones at the ready, with no searching or interrupting required. Students are able to efficiently take a pair, get to work, then return them to their designated spot. It is such a small thing, but such a huge thing, too! In classrooms, time is learning! Thank you for giving us the gift of learning time by gifting us this class set of headphones.","fullyFundedDate":1734374425412,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-hear-me-now/8904612/","projectTitle":"Can You Hear Me Now?","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Holz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7104671_orig.jpg?crop=291,291,x0,y68&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1601964680474","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7104671"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_125349","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":826,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":66,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.8,"schoolId":125349,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wrightson Ridge School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wrightson Ridge School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/sahuarita-unified-school-district/wrightson-ridge-school/125349"}
