Your generosity has created a healthier, safer learning environment where my students can focus on learning without worry. The hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and tissues you provided have made an incredible difference in our daily classroom life.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have become essential to our daily routines and have helped us maintain a healthy classroom community. Every morning, students use hand sanitizer as they enter the classroom, and we sanitize again before snack time and after recess. The Clorox wipes are used throughout the day—students wipe down their desks before lunch, clean shared materials after group work, and help sanitize high-touch surfaces like door handles and pencil sharpeners. Just yesterday, we were working on a hands-on science experiment with shared materials, and students automatically reached for the wipes to clean the equipment between groups. This has become second nature to them, and I'm so proud of how responsible they've become about keeping our space clean. The tissues are always within reach, and students no longer have to ask permission or feel embarrassed when they need one. These simple supplies have removed barriers to learning and helped us stay healthy so we can maximize our instructional time together.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies arrived, my students were genuinely relieved and excited! Several students immediately said, \"Now we don't have to bring our own from home!\" and \"My mom will be so happy!\" One student told me, \"I was worried we'd run out like last year.\" Their reactions reminded me that many families struggle to provide these basic necessities, and having them readily available in the classroom removes stress for both students and parents. Students also felt proud that our classroom was well-stocked and organized. They helped me set up sanitizer stations around the room and designated a \"health helper\" job for our classroom responsibilities chart. The sense of security these supplies provide has been palpable—students know they can stay clean and healthy, which allows them to focus fully on learning.\r\n\r\nNow that we have these essential supplies, we're able to maintain consistent health and hygiene practices throughout the school year. We're continuing our daily routines of hand sanitizing and surface cleaning, which has already resulted in fewer absences compared to previous months. Students are learning important life skills about personal hygiene and community responsibility. We're also incorporating health and wellness lessons into our curriculum, discussing why these practices matter and how we can take care of ourselves and each other. Moving forward, having these supplies means we can confidently engage in collaborative learning, hands-on activities, and shared experiences without worrying about spreading germs. Our next classroom project involves partner reading and small group work, and I know we can do this safely because we have the supplies we need to keep our learning environment clean.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students' health and well-being. You've given them more than supplies—you've given them peace of mind, consistent care, and the ability to learn in a safe and healthy environment every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1761935555250,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-healthy-essentials/9446672/","projectTitle":"Classroom Healthy Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Winakur","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2416609_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566280391206","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/winakur"},{"teacherId":2416609,"projectId":9446684,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our math manipulatives project! Your generosity has brought multiplication and fractions to life in our third-grade classroom, transforming abstract concepts into hands-on learning experiences that my students can see, touch, and truly understand.\r\n\r\nEvery math lesson now begins with students reaching for their manipulatives with excitement. We're using the multiplication arrays and base-ten blocks to build concrete understanding of multiplication facts, and the fraction strips have been game-changers for helping students visualize parts of a whole. Just last week, we were working on understanding 6 × 4, and instead of just memorizing the answer, students built arrays with the tiles to see six groups of four. One student who had been struggling suddenly exclaimed, \"Oh! It's like making a rectangle!\" That visual connection made all the difference. With the fraction strips, students are comparing fractions by laying the strips side-by-side to see that 1/2 is the same as 2/4. They're physically manipulating the pieces to understand equivalent fractions, which is a challenging third-grade concept. We're also using the manipulatives for partner activities where students create problems for each other to solve, building both their computational skills and their mathematical reasoning.\r\n\r\nWhen I unveiled the new manipulatives, the classroom erupted with excitement! Students were immediately drawn to the colorful materials and couldn't wait to get their hands on them. Several students who typically feel anxious about math were the first to volunteer to demonstrate with the new tools. One student told me, \"Math is actually fun now because I can see what the numbers mean!\" Another said, \"Can we use the fraction strips every day? I finally get it!\" Their enthusiasm has been contagious, and I've noticed students who previously avoided math are now asking to work on multiplication and fraction problems during free time. The hands-on nature of these tools has made math accessible and enjoyable for all learners in our classroom.\r\n\r\nNow that students have built strong foundational understanding with the manipulatives, we're moving deeper into our third-grade standards. For multiplication, we're progressing from basic facts to solving word problems and understanding the relationship between multiplication and division. With fractions, we're moving from identifying and comparing unit fractions to understanding equivalent fractions and placing fractions on number lines. Students will continue using the manipulatives to model real-world scenarios—like dividing a pizza into equal parts or arranging desks in equal rows. We're also starting a \"Math Mentor\" program where students who have mastered concepts will use the manipulatives to teach and support their peers, building confidence and deepening understanding for everyone.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my third graders' mathematical futures. You've given them the tools to not just memorize facts, but to truly understand and love math.","fullyFundedDate":1762290803289,"projectUrl":"project/math-manipulatives-galore/9446684/","projectTitle":"Math Manipulatives Galore!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Winakur","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2416609_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566280391206","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/winakur"},{"teacherId":2416609,"projectId":9629090,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making our pencil box and book box project a reality! Your kindness has transformed our classroom in ways that go far beyond simple organization.\r\n\r\nHow We're Using the Resources: Every morning, my students now have their own personal pencil boxes filled with the supplies they need to succeed. No more interruptions to borrow a pencil or search for an eraser—they have everything at their fingertips. The book boxes sit on each student's desk, holding their independent reading books, journals, and current assignments. This has created a sense of ownership and responsibility that I see growing every day. Students take pride in keeping their materials organized and ready for learning.\r\n\r\nTheir Reactions: When the boxes arrived, the excitement was incredible! My students' faces lit up as they unpacked each item. Several students told me they'd never had their own pencil box before. One student carefully arranged every pencil and crayon by color, then looked up with the biggest smile and said, \"These are really mine to keep?\" That moment reminded me why projects like this matter so much. The book boxes were equally exciting—students immediately started personalizing them and choosing books to fill them with from our classroom library.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next: Now that we have these organizational tools, we're building stronger independent work habits and reading routines. Students are reading more consistently because their books are always accessible in their book boxes. We're also using the pencil boxes to teach responsibility and self-management skills. Our next step is to establish a \"reading goal tracker\" that students will keep in their book boxes, helping them set and achieve personal reading milestones throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their success.
