The students were very excited when they first saw the new toy organizer shelf and thought it was \"so cool.\" Because each toy/item kit has a designated space on the shelf, students are learning to take responsibility for the materials they use and are becoming more independent when cleaning up.\r\n\r\nThe organizer has also helped create a clear routine for playtime. Students choose what they would like to play with, take it from its designated spot, and before moving on to a different toy, they are expected to return it to the same spot. Having the exact space open where the toy belongs makes it easier for students to know where everything goes and encourages them to clean up without as much adult prompting.\r\n\r\nOverall, the classroom organizer has helped make our play area more functional, organized, and inviting. It has also provided students with an opportunity to practice responsibility, organization, and independence. What was once simply a place to store toys has become a tool for teaching students how to take care of their classroom and the materials they have earned through their hard work.","fullyFundedDate":1778227146626,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-play-organization-area/10125542/","projectTitle":"Classroom Play Organization Area","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mehlhaff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10065251_orig.jpg?crop=1273,1273,x0,y97&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755300998860","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10065251"},{"teacherId":10065251,"projectId":9607309,"letterContent":"My students were so surprised and excited when they walked into the classroom to see new flexible seating options. They took turns trying them out for the very first time. Since I don't have flexible seating for all my kids so each one gets a flexible seating option all at once, they have to take turns; I make a rotating schedule of who gets what next. They are so excited and can't wait until it is their turn to sit in the new chairs!\r\nThe math manipulative's make it easier for the students to learn with the hands on materials. I feel that the students get a better grasp onto a concept when they are hands on/visual learners. I have students that have fine motor issues and the new division sheets I got help the students with staying lined up in the right columns and makes it less confusing for the students when dividing. The division sheets are nice size so it is easy for the students to see and they are erasable so they can do each problem in them! \r\nMy next steps in my classroom are to keep meeting the needs of each of my students and make learning enjoyable.","fullyFundedDate":1757862458626,"projectUrl":"project/the-classroom-that-everybody-wants-to-be/9607309/","projectTitle":"The Classroom That Everybody Wants to Be In!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mehlhaff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10065251_orig.jpg?crop=1273,1273,x0,y97&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755300998860","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10065251"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79892","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":233,"numTeachers":6,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"38.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":79892,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wishek Public School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wishek Public School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-dakota/wishek-school-district-19/wishek-public-school/79892"}
