Students and I have noticed that the volume level in our classroom is reduced due to the sound absorbers. It makes it easier to hear each other in whole-class discussions, as well as reduces the overall noise level in small group work. It is a huge help in trying to get all of us listening to each other. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the sound absorbers have made a great opportunity to connect with what they already know about sound waves. We have talked about why they are shaped the way they are, why they are soft, and why we put them at the height we did. Not only are they helping us hear each other, but they are also helping us learn more about science! Amazing! \r\n\r\nStudents were so excited to see the sound absorbers, to talk about the effect they noticed, and to have a quieter classroom. Thanks to your kindness, our students have been able to find fun spots to sit around the rug during our Morning Meeting and have their own spaces for instruction, independent reading time, or during math games. The students are just so in love with our rugs and we are so appreciative of all of your generosity to allow a new space in classrooms for students to explore and enjoy.
