Having a classroom number line and math vocabulary posters around the room has also given students helpful visual references they can use during lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were excited to have new resources to use and were especially interested in the math game cards. It has been great watching students work together, explain their thinking, and practice skills in a more interactive way. After reading *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone* as a class, students are able to choose whether they want to continue with the rest of the series, which has created excitement and encouraged independent reading. My students who enjoy sports have also been thrilled to have *The Crossover* series as an additional option that connects their interests with reading. I have even had several students read an entire series in just four weeks!
