Because of you, our \"Read, Listen, Learn: Quiet Tools for Loud Minds\" project is now a reality, and the energy in the room has shifted since your gifts arrived.\r\nThe Impact of Your Support\r\nYour contribution provided us with 20 new books and 12 sets of headphones. Here is how they are making a difference every day:\r\nThe Power of Choice: The new books have refreshed our library with stories that reflect my students' interests and identities. Seeing a student's eyes light up when they find a book they actually want to take home is the ultimate win for a teacher.\r\nA Focused Learning Environment: The headphones have been a total game-changer for our personalized learning time. Students can now engage with audiobooks and educational software without distractions, allowing them to work at their own pace in a \"quiet zone\" that didn't exist before.\r\nA Message from the Students\r\n\"I love the new headphones because I can finally hear my stories clearly without the rest of the room being too loud!\" — Ivan/ 6th grade student\r\nYour kindness reminds my students that there is a whole community of people rooting for their success. When I unboxed the new saws in class, my students were stoked. They all wanted to try out the new professional-grade saws. Now, students literally rush to class after lunch, eager to be first in line to start working on their design with the saws. Your generosity has helped make our engineering class a topic of conversation between students at break and lunch.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are in the middle of our cardboard design project, and these resources have become a daily necessity. In the past, students struggled to make the precise cuts needed for complex structures, but these ChompSaws allow them to create special shapes and clean edges. More importantly, because the ChompSaws are designed for student safety, everyone feels confident and empowered to take creative risks without fear. Watching a student successfully navigate a difficult curve or a precise angle and then proudly show off their work is a moment that wouldn't have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve using these cutting skills to create detailed prototypes before 3D printing. During my classes, students are working on building academic skills that will help them be successful in school and throughout their lives. Reading is such an important skill and the books you have provided for my students are being well used during our silent sustained reading two days a week. This time involves students reading a book of their choice silently for 20 minutes. With so many students drawn to short videos online for entertainment, I wasn't sure that students would be able to sit silently for 20 minutes, and then also be focused on reading for that time. They have been doing a great job! My classes do very well focusing on reading quietly the whole time. When they fill out reading checks, I can see that they are engaged in what they are reading as well.\r\n\r\nI have a small library in my classroom and students have also gone to our school library to pick up books for our reading time, but having the influx of new options from you has really been exciting for the students. They are able to find material that is interesting, and accessible for their various reading levels. Breaking up the text with the pictures found in the graphic novels, helps students that have reading disabilities. These books break the reading into smaller chunks, which is less intimidating for these readers. The graphic novels also help students that have challenges with attention, because they can break from the reading to look at the art for short breaks. Even the books without pictures are more accessible due to the layout of the book, larger font, and stories that are more engaging and relatable for my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support for my students. I even have some of the students asking to borrow the books, to continue reading at home! Many of our students face challenges that can make school feel overwhelming. Organization, note-taking, studying effectively, or even writing a simple email can feel like insurmountable tasks. But with the right instruction, guidance, and materials, we are watching them grow in remarkable ways.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, students are learning to stay organized, write professional emails, develop effective study habits, take clear, purposeful notes, build academic vocabulary, set meaningful goals, and track their progress. They also receive the extra homework support they need to keep up and move forward with confidence.\r\nStaying organized can be especially difficult for students who already struggle in school. When students have the right supplies and know how to use them effectively, it reduces frustration and increases focus. More importantly, it builds independence. We are seeing students take ownership of their learning, feel proud of their progress, and begin to believe in their own potential.\r\n\r\nYour donation is doing more than providing materials. There is increasing attention and focus in the classroom. It is strengthening study skills. It is improving academic achievement and, perhaps most importantly, helping students see that they are capable of success.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and for believing in their ability to grow.
