Your thoughtful donation has made a lasting impact on our classroom and has given students the opportunity to learn a new skill that many had never experienced before.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies arrived, the excitement throughout the classroom was contagious. Many students had never held a crochet hook or worked with yarn before. They were eager to learn, ask questions, and challenge themselves. Thanks to your support, every student had the materials needed to participate, practice, and create something they could proudly call their own.\r\n\r\nAs students learned the basic stitches, they quickly discovered that crochet is about much more than making handmade items. They developed patience, perseverance, and problem-solving skills. They learned that mistakes are simply part of the learning process and that with practice, they could improve. It was wonderful to watch students encourage one another, celebrate successes, and work together to overcome challenges.\r\n\r\nThe supplies you provided also created opportunities for creativity and self-expression. Students enjoyed choosing colors, experimenting with different patterns, and designing projects that reflected their own personalities. For many, this was a chance to unplug from technology, slow down, and focus on something relaxing and rewarding. The classroom became a place filled with conversation, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment as students proudly showed off their finished work.\r\n\r\nBeyond learning a new craft, students gained confidence in themselves. Many who were initially hesitant discovered talents they didn't know they had. Some have even expressed an interest in continuing crochet at home, teaching family members, or creating handmade gifts for friends and loved ones. Others have discussed selling their creations at future school events, connecting this new skill to entrepreneurship and career readiness.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has also strengthened our Crochet Club by giving every member equal access to quality materials. Because of your kindness, students can participate regardless of their financial circumstances. You have helped create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and capable of learning something new.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth. Your gift has done so much more than provide yarn and crochet hooks—it has inspired creativity, built confidence, encouraged teamwork, and introduced students to a lifelong skill they can continue to enjoy for years to come.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your generosity and support. Thank you for helping us create meaningful learning experiences that will have a lasting impact on their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1766109742185,"projectUrl":"project/crochet-and-chill/9798008/","projectTitle":"Crochet and Chill","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Joyner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7154171_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722954839101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7154171"},{"teacherId":7154171,"projectId":9106966,"letterContent":"The generous donation of a laminator has made a lasting impact on my classroom, my students, and me as an educator. This resource has quickly become one of the most valuable tools in our classroom because it allows us to create durable, professional-quality learning materials that can be used year after year. Your kindness has helped us improve the learning environment while stretching our classroom budget.\r\n\r\nAs a Culinary Arts teacher, many of our lessons require students to work with recipes, food safety charts, kitchen procedures, and visual guides in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Before receiving this laminator, many of these materials became damaged from frequent use, spills, and constant handling. Now, I can laminate recipe cards, kitchen station directions, sanitation checklists, measurement charts, vocabulary cards, and instructional posters so they remain clean, organized, and easy to sanitize between classes.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has also increased student engagement. Students enjoy working with reusable learning materials, such as dry-erase task cards, matching activities, review games, and interactive stations. Instead of creating disposable worksheets, I can provide activities that students use repeatedly throughout the semester. This not only makes learning more interactive but also encourages collaboration, discussion, and critical thinking during class.\r\n\r\nAnother wonderful benefit is the confidence it gives students. Seeing professional-looking classroom materials helps students recognize that their learning matters. When students create projects, certificates, menus, posters, or displays that are laminated, they take great pride in their work. Displaying these accomplishments around the classroom celebrates their success and motivates them to continue doing their best.\r\n\r\nFor me as a teacher, this laminator has saved countless hours and valuable classroom funds. I no longer need to wait for access to a shared machine or worry about materials wearing out after only a few uses. I can prepare lessons more efficiently, respond to classroom needs immediately, and create resources that support different learning styles. The ability to reuse materials has significantly reduced paper waste and replacement costs, allowing classroom funds to be used for additional instructional supplies and hands-on learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has also enhanced our FCCLA chapter and classroom activities. We can create durable signs, competition displays, event materials, leadership resources, and promotional items that look polished and professional. These resources help students develop pride in their work while representing our school and community with excellence.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has shown my students that there are people who believe in their education and want them to succeed. Every laminated resource they use serves as a reminder that someone cared enough to invest in their future. Your support extends far beyond providing a piece of equipment—it has strengthened our classroom, inspired creativity, improved organization, and created learning experiences that will benefit hundreds of students for years to come.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all of my students and our classroom community, thank you for your incredible generosity. Your gift has made a meaningful difference, and we are truly grateful for your support and belief in our success.","fullyFundedDate":1746787091686,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-classroom-resources-with-lamin/9106966/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Classroom Resources with Laminator","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Joyner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7154171_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722954839101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7154171"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3076","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":465,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":60,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":62.8,"schoolId":3076,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverside High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverside High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/martin-county-school-district/williamston-high-school/3076"}
