Before this, I often heard students sharing \"I'm hungry,\" in the middle of lessons, and it broke my heart knowing that hunger was standing in the way of their learning. Now, thanks to your generosity, those moments are gone. \r\n\r\nEvery child has enough to eat, and the difference is incredible—students are energized, focused, and smiling. You didn't just provide snacks; you gave them the ability to learn without worry. We have a late lunch at 12:30 p.m., and having access to snacks helps students wait without getting distracted.\r\n\r\nOne unforgettable moment was during a big social science project. Students were moving through stations, researching traditions, and sharing ideas. Normally, fatigue would set in halfway through, but this time, they were engaged from start to finish because they felt cared for and nourished. Your gift made our classroom a place where every child feels valued and supported.\r\nThank you again for your support. We all appreciate you and big THANK YOU from all of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1760738299386,"projectUrl":"project/snack-time-focus-time/9808316/","projectTitle":"Snack Time = Focus Time!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Guezguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5951912_orig.jpg?crop=697,697,x60,y172&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764571255711","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5951912"},{"teacherId":8488413,"projectId":8551803,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our 5th grade classroom. Your donations have made great impacts on our scholars in both their reading growth and their willingness to read. Students have been enjoying the books so much that, at times, I often have to tell them to \"put the books away\" during instructional times! As a teacher, that is a WONDERFUL problem to have. One particular student loved the graphic novel \"Four Eyes\" so much that he begged me to buy more books by the same author. Seeing a student, who often refused to read, change their perspective about reading due to your donations, shows the clear significance your donation has had.","fullyFundedDate":1728312654535,"projectUrl":"project/live-laugh-literacy/8551803/","projectTitle":"Live, Laugh, Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Schurman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/schurmanww"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88425","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":523,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":16,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":24,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":88425,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about William Walker Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"William Walker Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/beaverton-school-district/william-walker-elementary-school/88425"}
