This project combines historical research and a little creativity. During the class, students researched their topics in US History, carefully planned their designs that represented each topic, and created informative and visually engaging posters. Thanks to the generous support of DonorsChoose donors, my students had access to the materials they needed to bring their ideas and research to life. When the supplies arrived, the excitement in the classroom was immediate. Many students were genuinely surprised, especially with the \"fresh and new\" pencils that quickly got to work.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments of this project involved a student who remained focused from start to finish. He consistently worked on his project, paying close attention to detail. Watching his persistence pay off as he completed an outstanding final product was a wonderful reminder of what students can accomplish when they have the right resources and encouragement. Looking ahead to next school year, I plan to have the posters laminated and displayed in my classroom so that students can continue to take pride in their work and future classes can be inspired by the creativity, effort, and learning that made this project such a success.","fullyFundedDate":1777989220742,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-shades-ending-the-year/10195456/","projectTitle":"Colorful Shades Ending the Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10479577_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777994600858","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10479577"},{"teacherId":8821840,"projectId":9577121,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting this project and helping create a more engaging and welcoming classroom for my English language learners. Since receiving these supplies, we have been using the dry erase lapboards regularly so students can answer questions, practice vocabulary, and participate in review games without the pressure of speaking out loud. Upon the first use, I immediately noticed more students willing to take risks and share their thinking. Students who never participated in class before are now sharing their thoughts and collaborating with their classmates. The Jolly Ranchers have added excitement and competition to these activities while increasing the amount of participation as well.\r\n\r\nThe poster boards were used for a final project on a novel we read in class. Many students who are typically hesitant to speak were proud to present their posters and explain their design choices to classmates. They were fully engaged throughout the assignment, and I was so impressed with the amount of effort they put into it. They were excited to see their projects displayed around the classroom, where they remain until our next posterboard project. Finally, the permanent markers were used for a blackout poetry activity where students carefully selected words to create poems. Poetry is often challenging for my students, but the blackout poetry activity drew them in and allowed them to express themselves creatively. \r\n\r\nWe have not gotten to use the Post-it notes yet, but I'm excited to use them later in the year to increase participation during discussions and reading activities. Students will be able to write responses, questions, or key takeaways and place them on classroom discussion boards. It will be a low-pressure way to contribute ideas and interact with classmates. Thank you again for investing in my students and helping make my classroom a more fun and equitable place to learn. My students are incredibly grateful as well, and I hope their appreciation was evident in the thank-you notes we sent you.","fullyFundedDate":1763148296721,"projectUrl":"project/empower-voices-through-classroom-literac/9577121/","projectTitle":"Empower Voices Through Classroom Literacy Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blinn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/klandivar"},{"teacherId":8821840,"projectId":9577128,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting this classroom project. Your generosity helps me meet my students' needs and makes a real and practical difference throughout the school day and beyond. Many students are still hungry during the day or before after-school activities and having access to snacks in the classroom gives them the fuel they need to stay focused in class and participate in sports and other after-school commitments.\r\n\r\nI keep snacks and feminine hygiene products stashed in my classroom so students can take what they need discreetly when they need it. Students know they can come find me during the school day when they need feminine hygiene products or snacks, and many do because they know I always have them available. This means they do not have to walk across the entire length of the school to see if the nurse has supplies, which can be stressful and embarrassing for some students. Because of you, they can quickly get what they need and return to class feeling supported.","fullyFundedDate":1760735212420,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-to-support-learning/9577128/","projectTitle":"Snacks to Support Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blinn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/klandivar"},{"teacherId":10110749,"projectId":9558775,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our high school math classroom through Donors Choose! Your generosity provided our students with a classroom printer that has made a meaningful difference in the way they learn, practice, and engage with mathematics. Having access to a reliable printer allows students to receive printed assignments, practice problems, graphs, visual models, and review materials right when they need them. This technology helps bridge the gap between digital resources and hands-on learning, giving students the opportunity to annotate, show their work, and interact with math concepts in a way that supports different learning styles.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students is having quick access to materials that make math feel more personalized and achievable. Instead of waiting for resources or sharing limited copies, students can immediately receive the tools they need to practice and improve their skills. Students who benefit from visual learning have especially appreciated being able to work with printed charts, examples, and problem-solving guides. Some students who were hesitant about math have become more engaged because they now have additional resources to build confidence and see their progress.\r\n\r\nThis printer may seem like a simple classroom tool, but it has created more opportunities for students to participate, prepare, and succeed. Your support has helped create a more organized and student-centered math environment where every learner has access to the resources they need.
