Many students are still hungry during the day or before after-school activities and having access to snacks in the classroom gives them the fuel they need to stay focused in class and participate in sports and other after-school commitments.\r\n\r\nI keep snacks and feminine hygiene products stashed in my classroom so students can take what they need discreetly when they need it. Students know they can come find me during the school day when they need feminine hygiene products or snacks, and many do because they know I always have them available. This means they do not have to walk across the entire length of the school to see if the nurse has supplies, which can be stressful and embarrassing for some students.
