We received many items that have enhanced the learning experiences of my students. One specific item that has been a huge motivation to my students has been the fidget tools that I selected. Fidget tools are extremely popular in fifth grade. Unfortunately, not all families can buy these tools for their children. I wanted to get a class set to ensure that all students could use one if they wished to. My students have greatly appreciated having a fidget to help keep calm and focused on test days. Additionally, the donation of basic colored pencils and colored markers has also improved our classroom structure. We recently completed a unit about exploration and my students were able to create beautiful posters comparing the ways people have explored throughout history. These posters came to life by using the colored pencils and markers we received from Donors Choose. In the past I have had to limit how many students could work on a project at one time. Now I have a full class set of vivid colored pencils with sharpeners and a giant box of assorted markers. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when all the boxes began to arrive. I had told them how fortunate we were to be provided with these donations. We even spent a few minutes brainstorming about what our wish list should include. My students find it very relaxing and also fun to add color to our projects. We also use the set of colored pencils to help with coding in our notebooks. All of these options are now easier than ever with our abundance of new supplies. \r\n\r\nWe are now looking forward to creating our end of the year memory books. The students will be able to fill out the books with magical images of their favorite school memories.","fullyFundedDate":1768179017473,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-killians-class-of-2026/10003989/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Killian's Class of 2026","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Killian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5366545"},{"teacherId":9363071,"projectId":9988476,"letterContent":"On behalf of the students and staff in our Special Education department, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation to our classroom. Your support arrives at a pivotal moment, and its impact will be felt daily by some of the most resilient and hardworking learners in our school community.\r\n\r\nIn a special education setting, the environment is just as important as the curriculum. Our classroom serves a diverse group of students with a wide range of learning styles, sensory needs, and physical requirements. Because our needs are so specific, we often require specialized tools that fall outside the scope of standard school budgets. Your contribution allows us to bridge that gap, providing our students with the high-quality resources they deserve to thrive.\r\n\r\n These aren't just \"extra\" supplies; they are essential keys to unlocking independence. For a student with sensory processing challenges, a high-quality noise-canceling headset or a weighted lap pad can mean the difference between a day of overwhelming anxiety and a day of focused learning. For a student working on communication, a new tablet with speech-to-text software provides a voice they didn't have yesterday.\r\n\r\nYour kindness does more than just provide physical objects; it sends a powerful message to our students and their families. It tells them that their community sees them, values them, and is rooting for their success. Many of our students face significant uphill battles in their educational journeys.
