Students who come to my office to discuss social-emotional issues have plenty of items to fidget, build, color, or squeeze. Many students can talk more freely when their hands are busy. I have also been able to offer many students a break to self-regulate, while providing helpful tools such as magnets, slime, and playdough. While these items may seem small, they make a big impact. I have also been able to share items during classroom lessons, as well as with individual students who struggle to focus in the classroom setting. The items that I was able to purchase through this funded project have been put to use immediately, and continue to provide support to all students at Scherkenbach Elementary School. I have items readily available for any student who comes into my office. The games and puzzles that I was able to purchase are invaluable. Some students need a quick break during the day, and these provide the perfect support. I am extremely thankful for the support of this project. The crayons, markers, number lines, colored pencils, and math manipulatives have helped the quality of my students work and improved their ability to complete math problems. \r\n\r\nMy students love all of the materials that were given. They really enjoy the book set for A Little Spot of Emotion. This book set has really helped them to identify and learn more about their emotions. The calming corner materials have helped them to manage their emotions when they need to take a break. My students were very appreciative of the new colored pencils and crayons.
