Eyes widened, smiles grew, and asked what the massive boxes were for. Once I was able to open and put them together. Many students began sharing with one another, while others asked thoughtful questions about how the wobble stools worked and why we were introducing them into our classroom. Their enthusiasm was not just about having something new but about feeling trusted and supported as learners. Several students expressed that they felt \"more like real readers\" when sitting on the wobble stools because the freedom of gentle movement helped them stay absorbed in their books. This excitement carried into our first group activity using the stools, where students eagerly gathered in circles and demonstrated increased collaboration, focus, and engagement. It was clear that the addition of these stools transformed the atmosphere of our classroom into a space that felt more responsive to their needs.\r\nAs our current lessons continue to build on collaborative group work and deeper reading comprehension, the wobble stools will play a crucial role in supporting students' next steps. We are beginning a multi-week novel study in which students will engage in book discussions, whole group reading, and small-group analysis. The ability to sit comfortably while maintaining movement will help them participate more meaningfully and stay attentive during longer conversations. Additionally, as we move into writing responses to our reading, the stools will provide a stable but flexible seating option that encourages focus during drafting periods. Our donors not only provided a seating resource but also gave my students the chance to experience learning in a way that supports their bodies and minds. We are sincerely grateful for this gift, which has already made a lasting difference in our classroom community and will continue to support our students' academic growth throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1757093165414,"projectUrl":"project/seating-flexibility-seat-choices-for-fo/9566159/","projectTitle":"Seating Flexibility: Seat Choices for Focused Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9636427_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755447480677","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9636427"},{"teacherId":9668335,"projectId":9505786,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your generous donation of Art Supplies, daily writing supplies and sensory items. The students were so excited to receive these awesome supplies. Children are very creative and with these supplies they have had so much fun with creating using the Art and Craft Supplies along with the Crayola Combo Class Pack, Glue Sticks, Do A Dot Markers, Expo Markers, Paint Sticks, Ticonderoga beginning pencils and White Board Erasers. Our children look forward to using these items in the art area and in their daily work. \r\n\r\nOur class has been able to produce more art on a daily basis due to having these specific art supplies. For that reason, we are truly grateful to be able to have these items to make our self expression easier and more successful in the classroom. Art is an area that the children are able to have fun with and express their feelings on a daily basis and with having an assortment of supplies, it makes it easy and fun. \r\n\r\nThe children have also enjoyed the Kinetic Sand, the Science Funnels, Play Foam \r\nSand ABC, Sensory Ice Cream Set in our Sensory Table. These items make learning fun and provide hands on learning experiences for our children. The new manipulatives you helped provide give my students concrete ways to explore math, literacy, and problem-solving concepts. Instead of only hearing about ideas, they are touching, building, and experimenting—making learning more meaningful, memorable, and fun.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a noticeable difference. Students who once struggled to understand abstract concepts are now able to use manipulatives to visualize and practice skills with confidence. I've seen more collaboration, curiosity, and excitement during lessons as students explore together, talk through their thinking, and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly elevated our classroom experience. By funding this project, you haven't just provided tools—you've empowered young learners to engage deeply and joyfully with their education. Thank you for believing in the power of hands-on learning and for giving my students opportunities that will shape their success far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1753303851020,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-in-kindergarten/9443976/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning in Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10069493_orig.png?crop=1290,1290,x0,y511&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753123162068","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10069493"},{"teacherId":10069493,"projectId":9443936,"letterContent":"Dear Supporters,\r\n\r\nThanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a warm, welcoming, and safe space for my kindergarteners. With the addition of flexible seating, students now have the freedom to choose learning spots that work best for their needs—whether it's sitting crisscross on a cushioned seat, working at a low table, or collaborating with a partner in a cozy corner. This flexibility has helped my students feel comfortable and engaged, allowing them to focus on learning rather than where they're sitting.\r\n\r\nThe new organization bins have also made an enormous difference. Our materials are now easy to access, neatly stored, and inviting for little hands. This not only creates a calmer environment but also teaches my students independence and responsibility as they take ownership of our shared learning space. Together, these changes have created a classroom that feels safe, warm, and inclusive—something every child deserves.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for investing in their success. Your support has not only provided furniture and supplies; it has given my kindergarteners a sense of belonging and dignity in their learning environment. I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the generous gifts you provided to our classroom. Your thoughtfulness and support have truly made a meaningful impact on both our learning environment and the daily experiences of my students.\r\n\r\nThe board games have been an especially wonderful addition. They've sparked engagement, collaboration, and so much joy during our learning blocks. Whether it's practicing critical thinking, strategy, or reinforcing language and math skills in a fun way, these games have become a favorite part of our routine. It's incredible to see how something so simple can transform a classroom into a vibrant space for both learning and laughter.\r\n\r\nWe are also incredibly grateful for the Word Mapping Paddles and the whiteboard tools. These hands-on resources have been a game changer for our word work. Students are actively involved in breaking apart and building words, improving their spelling, phonics, and vocabulary skills with confidence. It's rewarding to see them light up as they master new concepts through movement and interaction, exactly the kind of learning that sticks.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for believing in the power of active, student-centered learning.
