The puzzle cubes and multicolored pens have been a huge hit with our older students while the squishies and silly pens have been popular with our younger kids. Student volunteers who work in the store exclaim over the cool new items they see. They discuss which items they hope to purchase next. Students receiving their purchases proudly show them off to their peers and teachers.\r\n\r\nThe fresh products have definitely motivated our kids to work hard and practice thoughtful choices so they can earn points to use in our school store. While this celebration is only one small piece of our systems of support for students, it is one that students greatly look forward to and find meaning in. With this tangible form of acknowledgment paired with clear pre-taught expectations alongside additional supports including small groups for building social skills and behavior interventions, our students are well on their way to becoming productive and healthy community members.
