Distance learning during a pandemic has amplified the need for social emotional learning. The resources requested for this project will allow small groups of children to work with a social emotional teacher to explore their own emotions and develop a growth mindset through journaling and thoughtful conversations. These skills will not only support students through this challenging time, but are also lifelong skills that lead to improved life outcomes. Journaling can bring up big emotions. If topics become difficult or emotional, students can seek comfort with the balls included in this request. Even in the toughest of circumstances, these children can achieve. These tools will help facilitate their social emotional development whether returning to campus or remaining in distance learning.

About my class
