The three hole punch is used almost daily - I constantly forget to hole punch handouts for my AP kids. They love getting to use it, too! The highlighters are getting the most use as my AP kids mark all over passages that we analyze. Just today my AP language students were analyzing a speech by Frederick Douglass and looking at the words he chooses and why that's important in getting his point across. In this we here highlighting details, figurative language, sentence structure punctuation and more! All the color options makes the highlighting easier (and fun!). I used \"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie\" a few weeks ago as we talked about the line of reasoning in an argument. In this idea, we have to connect all of the parts of our ideas together to our main point, just like the idea of if you give a mouse a cookie he'll need a glass of milk, etc. (Think of all of the strings on a crime board, but this time in an essay.) We haven't reached the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks yet, but we got the paperbacks protected with a plastic cover so they'll last longer. I love this true story of medical research and how poor medical practices impacted a family and the world. It provides both a cautionary tale and exciting advances in the medical field that will expose my students to new ideas and information. I hope they'll love it just as much as I do.","fullyFundedDate":1754597362145,"projectUrl":"project/basics-and-books/9519400/","projectTitle":"Basics and Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10102571"},{"teacherId":7370343,"projectId":9318746,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation of classroom headphones, which has brought numerous benefits to our middle school learning environment. With access to quality headphones, students can now fully engage with educational podcasts, audiobooks, and interactive learning platforms that support different learning styles and needs. During standardized testing, the headphones have been essential in providing students with the tools they need for text-to-speech accommodations and audio-based sections, helping to create a more equitable testing experience.
