For Christmas, each student received an Earth Science kit, which allowed them to explore geology on their own over break and come back excited to learn the \"why\" behind the experiments.\r\nThe students have loved the rock tumbler!\r\nThey had a fantastic time during recess, collecting rocks to put in the rock tumbler. This will be a fantastic addition to the classroom for learning about weathering and erosion. They have made predictions about why some rocks completely disappeared during tumbling and why they became smoother.\r\nThe books were a fantastic resource as well! Students have been able to answer their own questions by doing research. The activities in the books have been extremely fun for the students, and they have been able to connect their learning to their questions in very hands-on ways. It has been wonderful to watch students explore Earth right here in our classroom!
