My students were ecstatic when they saw the new items that would go into the classroom store. They were so eager to count their classroom cash that they earn with good behavior to see if they could buy the new items. They worked on their double digit addition and subtraction skills to buy the new items from the store, and loved every second of it.\r\nI have informed students about the Lego sets that will also be coming thanks to your donations. They are happy to have more Legos than the very few we have now. I explained that they will be used for the calming corner, their ketchup/ pickle time (time where they catch up on their work, or have free time if they are finished), and for inside recess. The students are already talking about the things they can create. I have also been thinking of ways I can use Lego building in some of our science units. \r\nFor our next steps I plan to continue the classroom store and continue to work on their adding and subtracting. I will continue to add to my calming corner to help when students need a little time away from the class to regroup and continue to think of ways to use the Legos from this donation.","fullyFundedDate":1762267660610,"projectUrl":"project/calming-and-rewarding-in-the-classroom/9797540/","projectTitle":"Calming and Rewarding in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Geske","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8505429_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1655906610895","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsgeske"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37577","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":125,"numTeachers":6,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":58.7,"schoolId":37577,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about White Lake School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"White Lake School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/white-lake-school-district/white-lake-school/37577"}
