We had a lesson on how to read and write checks. We also learned that money does not grow on trees; you have to work to earn money. We learned how to set a budget and prioritize expenses. We were able to throw in some math lessons as well. Students were given a grocery list and the price for each item to figure out how much food they could purchase while still having enough money to pay the rest of the monthly bills. Then the students were asked to write a check for the bill and then figure out how to balance their checking account.\r\n\r\nIt was so fun to teach these life skills to the students.
