It was so fun seeing your contributions come in. I was hesitant at first to create one of these, since my need was not directly related to instruction. After thinking for a bit I realized that my wet patrols would not be available for instruction, so then I realized it was absolutely an instructional need. When we meet basic needs for students, we are able to help them be ready to learn. \r\n\r\nWhat you may not realize is that I happen to have quite a few students with special needs and several with financial needs this year. So they would not be able to purchase their own poncho. When this project arose, we were in the center of a government shutdown, which was impacting many of our families. All of this was considered when thinking about what I could do to help them stay dry. Thus the birth of this Donors choose project. \r\nThe kids have been so excited and although we have only had three rainy days since the ponchos arrived, they have been well ised. The plan is that students will turn them in at the end of school and I will be able to pass them out for the next group. Allowing your donation to impact more students.
