Sensory play will benefit our PreK ESE students by stimulating student's senses (touch, sight, sound, smell, taste) building critical neural connections, boosting cognitive growth, language skills, fine & gross motor control, problem-solving, creativity, and emotional regulation (calming anxiety).\r\nSensory integration has helped our PreK ESE toddlers understand cause-and-effect, develop focus, learn descriptive words, and increase social-emotional skills like sharing. Having these foundational skills will aid them when learning more complex skills and in everyday tasks.  \r\n         Our Pre K ESE students are learning a lot while using the sensory materials purchased from this project. Students are learning to work together. They are learning to share and take turns. They are increasing their communication and language skills. This year my young learners are excited to continue learning about their world and Science. The new tools and toys help them explore the world around them outside. They love exploring using magnifying glasses and magnifying collection jars. Exploring plants and insects has my learners engaged in the lesson and more aware of their environment.\r\n\r\nOur Pre k ESE students are learning so much about cause and effect, body control, force, motion, gravity, inertia with the balls and bats.  Students are excited for T-Ball practice. Our students were so excited when the boxes were delivered to our room. They were so quiet waiting for us to open the boxes so they could see what was inside. The excitement that erupted once they saw the musical instruments and movement supplies. . After patiently helping unbox the items, students proudly tried out their new instruments as we discussed care and safety. Everyone thought they were \"perfect\" and \"so much fun!\"\r\n\r\nBecause of the flexibility of the instruments and movement supplies, My students are eager to participate in lessons. The love the way they can use the shakers for noise and for making patterns, the rhythm sticks can be used while patterning, counting syllables, and keeping time with music . Amazingly, students want to do their independent work with these items to support them. For example, if they match letter to letter correctly, they shake the egg shaker for a positive reinforcer. Or, They see a number and use a rhythm stick to tap out numbers. They also seek out the items during free play activity to make their own music. We are looking forward to helping our learners grow in knowledge, self-esteem, and independence using these new items in our class. Everyone thought they were \"perfect\" and \"comfortable!\"\r\n\r\nBecause of the flexibility of the new seating, My students are eager to participate in lessons. The love the way they can flip the seat to fit their comfort levels. Amazingly, they want to do their independent work puzzles at the new desks (one chair as a seat, one as a desk table).  They also seek out the chairs during free play activity time to arrange the chairs in creative ways, like a train, a wall, and a castle.
