One of my favorite moments was when a group of fourth graders came back from recess and saw the apple juice boxes set out for the first time. Their eyes lit up, and one student exclaimed, \"We never get this at school!\" That excitement quickly turned into a calm, focused classroom as students settled in with their snack before diving back into reading.\r\n\r\nThese resources have been more than just food — they've helped create a sense of community. In one class, students even started helping one another pass out the snacks, turning it into a moment of teamwork. For many of our students, having something reliable to eat during the day has meant fewer distractions and more energy to learn.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are working on making the Healthy Snack Initiative sustainable for the entire year. The next step is to continue expanding the variety of nutritious options we can offer, so students get both balance and choice. The option to move and stay active while working has been a game-changer!\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable.
