Stories have such an impact on students in our classrooms, allowing them to learn about different cultures and worlds outside of their own. They also allow them to see themselves in these stories. \r\nWith these books we have incorporated them into many different lessons already. Students love reading the story and being able to add instruments to it and bring it life. In particular our 3rd graders have enjoyed adding their recorders into these stories. Because of kind donors like you, we received the necessary supplies to foster a classroom that promotes collaboration, communication, critical thinking and perseverance. When the boxes of supplies started coming in, it was like Christmas! My students and I couldn't wait to get out the tabletop whiteboards and other supplies, so the next day we did our first math task! \r\n\r\nMy first graders have learned to take charge of their learning through a variety of math tasks including their favorites so far: Disguise a Turkey, Superbowl Math, and a variety of open-ended problems. It has touched my teaching heart to witness my first graders strengthen their collaboration skills while working through high-level math tasks. Students have expressed that they enjoy doing math tasks because they get to work together to share their problem solving ideas. They also have learned the importance of listening to each other, sharing the tools, and thinking creatively. Seeing my students motivated and engaged on a whole new level has been exciting! \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your donation and kindness!
