The purchase of laminators for the middle and high school teachers' lounges will allow those teachers to laminate individual sheets of paper. This lamination allows students to write on these papers with dry-erase markers and then erase, eliminating the need for continuous copies of regularly used materials. It also allows teachers to laminate materials that are used as visual aids on walls or on desks, extending the lifespan of these items tremendously. To supplement these laminators, we were also able to purchase boxes of lamination sheets, so teachers do not need to go out and purchase their own.\r\nIn the early learning center, teachers received a guillotine paper cutter to support the making of phonics materials or to cut materials for centers or parent communication. They also requested, and were granted, two pairs of adult-sized scissors to be kept in the lounge and checked out by teachers or paraeducators. \r\nWe thank you for your support as we raised money for these items. Our students will have longer-lasting, interactive materials, and our educators will be able to create items that can last years, cutting down on the time required to create and copy these materials over and over again. Together, we designed and packed these kits to bring joy and comfort to young patients during difficult times.\r\nEach Comet Bilingual Comfort Kit includes:\r\nA coloring book. A box of 8 crayons and 12 washable markers. A dry-erase marker and eraser with a whiteboard. A Hot Wheels car to bring a smile and a sense of play and bilingual notes.\r\nThe bilingual aspect of these kits ensures that both English and Spanish-speaking families at the children's hospital feel seen, supported, and comforted besides it taught my 3rd graders the invaluable lesson of community service, compassion, and the power of their bilingual voices.\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your investment in our classroom and in the well-being of children in our community. \r\nThank you for making this impactful experience possible.","fullyFundedDate":1777987554386,"projectUrl":"project/comet-bilingual-comfort-kits-for-iowa-ch/10175668/","projectTitle":"Comet Bilingual Comfort Kits for Iowa Children's Hospital","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bejarano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10472776_orig.jpg?crop=1689,1689,x337,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775169009173","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10472776"},{"teacherId":8276102,"projectId":9292645,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting the endeavors of my Educators Rising students as they celebrated their teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.
