Even the older students wanted a turn to take a peek inside and explore all the pieces. We have taken multiple opportunities with the youngest students to get the bins out and play with the objects, sort them, name them, and use them for various projects, games, and activities related to language.\r\n\r\nWe have used the objects in the bins to help identify categories such as pets, toys, foods, etc. as well as to sort objects by beginning sounds. Older students have also practiced listening for more complex parts of speech such as blends and digraphs and building their vocabulary as they sort the objects that way.\r\n\r\nThese bins have been such a valuable addition to our EL classroom. They are so versatile and engaging for our English language students. We are able to practice phonics skills with them as well as build vocabulary in a fun, engaging, hands on way. We are so grateful for the generosity of others that have made this resource available to the students we serve.
