What an exciting weekend! With the money we raised, we were able to rent the red blazers required for students to compete at their State competition. But you all were so generous that we were able to hold a fundraiser with supplies bought from your donations and completely pay for State! \r\n\r\nIt was amazing to see these kids shine. Attending the State Leadership Conference really opened their eyes to what is possible with FCCLA. Kids who were hesitant before have been asking me to get contact information so that they can continue with it in high school! This is all thanks to you and your generosity. Additionally, having the blazers made them feel, in their words, \"Very professional, like we go to Harvard.\"\r\n\r\nNow, for what you've all been waiting for, how did we do? Our Menu Planning and Table Setting team took 2nd place, our Tour Idaho team took 3rd place, and Interior Design Sketch also took 3rd place. Getting to tell them about the generosity of the community and the way people are supporting them has lit a fire in them. That is all because of you! \r\n\r\nWe're currently in the midst of a bake sale raising the remaining funds needed to get the kids to state! We hope to use the excess funds that were raised to cover the materials that were purchased (cookie dough, brownie mix, etc) for the fundraiser so that everything else can be a profit. \r\n\r\nIt is so special to see how members of our community come together to support these kids. This project never even has to leave family and friend funding. We live in such a special place with such generous people. \r\n\r\nThe kids will be competing in the Tour Idaho, Interior Design Sketch, Menu Planning and Table Setting, and Interview Skills competitions.
