My students were immediately excited when they realized they would be able to print replicas of ancient artifacts and historical items they usually only see in textbooks or on slides. What has been most exciting for them is getting the chance to actually hold pieces of history in their hands and better understand what people in the past made and used in everyday life. Watching an object slowly take shape on the printer has made history feel real and tangible for them in a way I haven't seen before.\r\n\r\nI've also noticed that some students who don't always connect right away with traditional lessons have really warmed to this technology. A few of them now volunteer to help start prints, suggest artifact ideas, and ask thoughtful questions about how items were used in ancient cultures. Other students who are especially interested in technology have taken pride in helping their classmates learn how the printer works and have become leaders during these activities. Your support is helping make learning more engaging, collaborative, and meaningful for my students, and we are truly grateful for the opportunities this will continue to provide. Thank you again for making this possible for our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1774062302898,"projectUrl":"project/artifact-printer/9940892/","projectTitle":"Artifact Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dalton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9862907_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x240,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733340493797","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9862907"},{"teacherId":9862907,"projectId":9415695,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to this project. With your help, I was able to get a class set of headphones. Many of my students come in with headphones at the beginning of the year, but they tend to disappear or get broken soon after. By having a set in my room to loan out, I can ensure that students have what they need to hear the videos we watch in class. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the pencils are helpful for those who need something to write with. I have enjoyed collaborating with more teachers than ever this year and providing students with a creative way to practice what they are learning in their classes.\r\n\r\nI worked with 7th grade math classes to review 3D shapes and then give students a chance to work in small groups to create a pyramid or cube using the 3Doodler pens funded by all of you. The Legos I originally selected were not available so instead I was able to prepare for a fun snowflake lesson for next school year by selecting a Brain Flakes Kit which are good quality interlocking plastic discs. Until then, it has been on of the choices for students to pick when they are in here for free choice maker space time and it is usually one of their favorite things to work with. Lastly, with remaining funds from the cancellation of the Legos, I selected a shaking tabletop that I am inspired to make use of after watching an episode of Lego Masters use something on a bigger scale to test out the durability of the builders creations.\r\n\r\nAgain, I sincerely thank all of you for your help towards expanding what I can offer when collaborating with teachers. All students have been engaged and enjoying their time with our new tools to use for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1733256043798,"projectUrl":"project/maker-space-rebuilding/8705320/","projectTitle":"Maker Space Rebuilding","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Campbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9707678"},{"teacherId":9862907,"projectId":9121668,"letterContent":"As we prepare for the end of the school year, the storage items have been incredibly helpful in our classroom. We have moved all the notebooks into crates, which makes them easier to find and prevents damage. We haven't set up the tables yet because I want to wait until next year to avoid storage issues over the summer. For now, the boxes allow the tables to be laid flat, with other items placed on top of them. The accordion folders have been used to organize all the extra copies and assignments, making them ready for make-up work or for storage at the end of the year.
