Use of the black magnetic letters has helped give a hands-on approach to seeing and manipulating smaller sound chunks in larger words. They have often referred to our \"word work\" sessions when they are independently working on writing a story or decoding an unknown word. They have even asked if they can pull out a set of the magnetic letters to try some different spellings before they write! The smiles that a recognized word brings is true heartwarming! \r\n\r\nOur rug has brought great bright colors and comfort to our classroom! We have had to even create a share list so everyone has the opportunity to work on the \"comfy\" rug!
