Having these new books gives students more opportunities to explore different genres, discover new interests, and develop a love of reading. They also give students opportunities to learn about new topics, discuss what they have read, and make connections to their own lives.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom looks different for every student. Some students enjoy reading independently, while others like reading together, sharing their favorite parts, or talking about the characters and events in a story. The new books have given students more choices and helped make reading exciting. It is especially rewarding to see students who may not always choose reading on their own become interested in finding a book that catches their attention.
