Something as simple as the clear plastic sheet protectors with the dry erase markers provide reusable math boards for daily math practice. I can change out the math practice mats as we move along and even send them home for practice. Small things make a big difference.\r\n The white magnetic easel is used daily. One side is used for math, and the other for the science, reading, and writing note taking. The math side works well with the magnetic math manipulatives as well as allowing the kids to write on it. This was badly needed because my room have very limited wall space for the students and I to work with. \r\n They have been exploring with the robot mouse on a flat cardboard. Soon they will be given pieces to create obstacles for the mouse. This builds teamwork and problem solving skills. \r\n Supplies such as these help keep the kids engaged with learning. Students love being able to use a wobbly stool in place of the traditional chair. I have reward coupons that students earn for behavior and for passing lessons on a personalized learning platform called iReady. Students often choose the coupon that allows them to have different seating for the day.\r\nIn addition, students enjoy being able to have options of seats during independent and partner time.
