Writing in the sand allows students to practice skills, erase mistakes easily, and try again without frustration. Many students who are hesitant with traditional paper-and-pencil tasks have become more engaged and excited to participate.\r\n\r\nWhen the sand trays were introduced, students were immediately thrilled and eager to begin exploring. Having tables that can be split up has been a game changer in our classroom. The kids really enjoy being able to switch around as well. \r\n\r\nOur project also allowed for us to receive an alphabet sound tub set. The kids love when I bring the tub out before I teach a letter. I tell them all the items in the tub and they get to guess what our letter of the week is. The alphabet tubs have been a great addition to my alphabet lessons! Students are able to use the objects in the tubs to identify and learn the corresponding letter and sound. So far, students have learned the letters A,M,S, P, and T. They loved the little apple, mouse, sun, pickle, and turtle in the corresponding letter tubs. \r\n\r\nStudents are excited to hold and manipulate the objects within the sound tubs. I truly believe this excitement and the manipulative objects are aiding in the students' learning of the letters and sounds- in a fun way!
