High homelessness and poverty rates can leave our students with struggles at home, including lack of stability in resources and inconsistent availability of transportation and basic needs. Our families have a lot of stress in their lives that students feel at all ages. Our counseling office is available for all students at our school to use as a calm space when students are overwhelmed. \r\n The materials from our donors choose project are being used by students in many ways. The Kinetic sand and sand tools are used when students need some time to regulate and calm down. Students use the play dough in a similar way. They also use it to build faces and express feelings. \r\n We also provide positive prizes for students based on goals. The sticky hands are a prize that students love to choose when they have met a goal. These connections are only possible with support from donors. Because of your kindness, our classroom has been transformed into a more engaging, hands-on learning environment. The new materials you helped provide have been used daily, and it's been incredible to see the excitement and curiosity they've sparked in my students. One memorable moment was when we used our new resources for a science project on pollinators—students were able to explore real-world connections through vibrant books, hands-on tools, and visuals that brought their learning to life. It was such a joy to watch them collaborate, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students saw the new supplies, their faces lit up with amazement and curiosity. Several of them said things like, \"Is this really for us?\" and \"I've always wanted to use something like this!\" It was a powerful reminder of how meaningful these resources are to them—not just as tools, but as a sign that someone believes in their learning and growth.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we're building on what we've learned by starting a research and writing unit where students will create informational reports about different animals and their habitats. The resources you've provided are playing a key role in helping students access high-quality information and express their ideas with confidence. Thank you again for investing in our classroom.
