The sensory room provides the students with much needed support throughout their academic day. When students need a break from overstimulation, these tools will allow for their bodies to calm and refocus. The exercise balls are used as alternative seating as well as many sensory exercises. The sand and water play table allows at least four students to engage in a tactile sensory experience using water beads and Moon Sand. The trampoline allows my students to meet their gross motor sensory needs. Sensory brushes are a great tool to use before a writing assignment. The chewable pencil toppers are used for my students with oral sensory processing sensitivities. They are able to chew on the pencil topper while they work within the classroom.
