Your support has opened the door to hands-on, innovative learning experiences that our students would not have otherwise had access to. By incorporating CAD design through Tinkercad, students were able to move beyond traditional learning methods and engage in meaningful, creative problem-solving. Your contribution has truly transformed our classroom into a space where imagination and technology come together.\r\n\r\nThrough the use of the 3D printer and CAD projects, students developed critical skills in design thinking, spatial reasoning, and perseverance. Using Tinkercad, they learned how to plan, draft, and revise their ideas before bringing them to life as physical objects. This process strengthened their understanding of math and engineering concepts while also encouraging collaboration and creativity. Students took pride in their work, learning from mistakes and celebrating successes as they saw their digital designs become real models they could hold and evaluate.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this technology allowed students to deepen their understanding of 5th grade science standards in a highly engaging way. By designing and printing models—such as ecosystems, landforms, or simple machines—students were able to visualize and interact with concepts that can often feel abstract. This hands-on approach improved comprehension and retention while making learning exciting and relevant. Thanks to your generosity, our students are not only learning science—they are experiencing it, building confidence and skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1732034979243,"projectUrl":"project/cad-a-3d-printer/8947056/","projectTitle":"CAD & a 3D Printer!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Zook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7773380"},{"teacherId":8295486,"projectId":9356454,"letterContent":"I teach in a Title I school and most of my students come from low income households where the only things they use at home to occupy themselves is a digital device. Most students have no background in music, but love when we can have music in our classroom.\r\n I was so excited to be able to have this project funded for the Boomwhackers! Music was such an important part of my school journey and I wanted to be able to share music experiences with my classroom too!\r\n The class has been so excited to use the Boomwhackers and especially get excited to play songs from the KPop Demon Hunters movie! With the books you helped provide, my students are able to sample a wide variety of genres, voices, and stories. This project has not only expanded our classroom library, but it has also opened doors for students to discover books they might never have picked up on their own.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been clear: students are asking, \"Can I check this book out?\" right after we finish a first chapter. They're recommending titles to one another, starting conversations about what they want to read next, and—most importantly—showing genuine excitement for reading. For some students, this is the first time they've been motivated to read independently, and it's amazing to see them find books that truly fit their interests.\r\n\r\nThis project has improved our classroom by creating a culture of curiosity and choice. Instead of struggling to find a book, students now have a variety of engaging options that we've previewed together, and that sense of community around reading is growing stronger every week.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. You've helped turn Fridays into a celebration of stories, and my students are building reading habits that will last far beyond this year.","fullyFundedDate":1746786012340,"projectUrl":"project/first-chapter-fridays-fueling-a-love-fo/9251742/","projectTitle":"First Chapter Fridays: Fueling a Love for Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pentecost","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9973139_orig.png?crop=1206,1205,x0,y623&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742915450762","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9973139"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33438","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":432,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.4,"schoolId":33438,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Washington Terrace Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Washington Terrace Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/weber-school-district/washington-terrace-elementary-school/33438"}
