The students were immediately drawn to them. I was surprised by how much excitement they generated. There was a lot of shared reading of books, talking, and showing. One student showed me pictures of places in her country where she had lived and travelled. It was amazing for me to see. One student wanted to read about Ronaldo because her dad is a Renaldo fan and she wanted to go home and talk to him about it.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I am grateful to have some fresh books for second semester to keep the students motivated. I was able to order some higher level chapter books and students who were ready leveled up! One student told me, \"Hide this book so nobody else can take it.
