The primary time period when the students are likely to benefit the most will be at the end of January through March, but they will begin practicing for their speaking tests soon. \r\n\r\n Before your generous gift, the students would have difficulty recording themselves. At times the speaking tests would shut down completely because the computer would mistakenly think the headsets they had been using had a microphone. The way I would try to help the students is by having them plug and unplug the headsets while recording or listening. This method was pretty ineffective.\r\n\r\n Now the students have a much better microphone and headset that records their voices even when they are speaking quietly. I have been able to hear whispered responses that would not have been identifiable with the older headsets.
