When the file folder games arrived, students were immediately curious and excited—they couldn't wait to explore them. Instead of the usual hesitation during math practice, I saw students eager to jump in, asking to try different games, and even helping each other understand the directions. One moment that really stood out was watching a group of students who typically struggle with math fully engaged, laughing, and confidently solving problems together—it was such a powerful shift.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the file folder games during our WIN (Whatever I Need) TIME for differentiated math centers and reteaching time. These hands-on activities allow me to target specific skills while giving students the chance to practice at their own level. Some students are working on foundational skills, while others are extending their thinking with more challenging tasks—all within the same class period. The independence these games promote has also allowed me to pull small groups more effectively and provide focused support where it's needed most.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on these skills by rotating in new games, tracking student growth, and incorporating more student-led learning opportunities. My goal is to help students not only improve their math skills but also build confidence and a positive mindset toward learning. As soon as the knee pads and arm bands arrived, the girls were beyond excited—they immediately wanted to try everything on and started practicing right away. For many of them, this was their first time having proper volleyball equipment, and it made them feel like real athletes. During drills, I noticed students diving for the ball more confidently, encouraging one another, and staying engaged for longer periods of time. One moment that stood out was when a student who usually hangs back during physical activities dove for a save and popped right back up smiling—something I hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the gear while practicing passing, setting, and defensive movements. The knee pads have made a huge difference in helping students feel safe when learning how to dive and move quickly on the floor. Because our district does not provide a comprehensive science curriculum, teachers often have to piece together materials on their own. The Teachers Pay Teachers resources funded through this project allow me to provide structured lessons, interactive notebook activities, and hands-on labs that support key concepts. These materials help students move beyond simply reading about science to actively exploring ideas, analyzing information, and applying what they learn.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting parts for my students has been the interactive and hands-on nature of the activities. The labs and activities allow them to investigate real scientific questions, record their observations, and collaborate with their classmates. Simple tools like the colored dot stickers and multi-color pens have helped keep lab stations organized and make data collection clearer for students. These small but important supplies make it easier for students to track information, label materials, and stay engaged in the investigative process.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who sometimes struggle with traditional assignments have really thrived during these science activities. The hands-on labs and visual resources help them better understand complex concepts and give them the confidence to share their ideas with their peers. In our classroom, students regularly use digital programs for reading, science simulations, and skill practice. Having reliable headphones allows them to listen to instructions, videos, and interactive lessons without distracting others or being distracted themselves. This simple tool makes a big difference in helping students stay focused and work at their own pace, especially during small group rotations and independent learning time.\r\n\r\nThe students were immediately excited to have their own classroom headphones available whenever we use our devices. Many of the programs we use include audio directions, videos, and read-aloud supports, and students love being able to clearly hear the content while they work. It has also made group work smoother because students can participate in different activities at the same time without competing noise in the classroom.\r\n\r\nSome students who typically struggle with concentration have especially benefited from having headphones. Being able to block out background noise helps them stay focused on their tasks and feel more confident completing assignments independently.
