We received it quickly, and were able to start using it the same week! The xylophone we got has several really cool features, including a storage compartment for mallets and fold out legs so it easily stores when we aren't using it. \r\n\r\nHaving the additional xylophone means that during class there is less downtime when a student is waiting on an instrument. In fact, for most lessons, my students don't have to wait at all, and we're able to simply rotate through many different instruments. The students love the \"Reading Retreat.\" The calming atmosphere has brought tranquility to the room, not only in the book nook, but throughout the entire classroom. My students and myself have greatly appreciated the light covers. One student told me when he saw the \"new\" lights, \"they are amazing, the other lights hurt my eyes.\" The light covers allow us plenty of light to move around without the harshness of the fluorescent lights.\r\n\r\nStudents \"oohed and ahhhd\" over the LED lights. During lessons the first week, many students raised their hands just to say, \"I like your LED lights.\" I keep them on blue, it is such a calming color and just happens to also be my favorite color.\r\n\r\nOne of the lamp bring a \"fall\" feeling to the boon nook. I've used the colored lamp shades to create a warm, muted, calm area where students can sit and read. The second lamp sits beside the circulation desk focused on the scanner. This allows me to keep the overhead lights off and have plenty of light to teach, circulate the books, and students to maneuver the area.
