Knowing that individuals they have never even met cared enough to invest in their education made them feel truly valued, creating an instant spark of enthusiasm in the room.\r\n\r\nWe are currently putting these resources to work right away through hands-on investigations and data analysis activities. Instead of just reading about scientific concepts from a textbook, students are using the new equipment to engage directly with real-world phenomena, allowing them to measure, test, and observe data firsthand. This active approach is helping them build stronger critical-thinking and problem-solving skills every single day.\r\n\r\nBuilding on this momentum, our next steps involve taking these lessons even further. Students will be analyzing the data they collected to draw evidence-based conclusions and connect their daily lab work to broader scientific systems.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for partnering with us and giving a peek into our classroom. Your incredible generosity empowers our students to think like scientists and inspires them to reach higher.","fullyFundedDate":1775745761755,"projectUrl":"project/eco-engineers-cutting-edge-tech-for-env/10059955/","projectTitle":"Eco-Engineers: Cutting-Edge Tech for Environmental Advocacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10093993_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y68&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753479410851","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10093993"},{"teacherId":10093993,"projectId":9878910,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in bringing the Bambu Lab P1S Combo 3D Printer into our classroom. For many of my students, 3D printing was something they had only seen in videos or heard about as a \"technology of the future.\" Because of your support, it has become a tangible, everyday tool that they can use to solve problems and visualize complex scientific concepts. In our Earth and Environmental Science courses, this technology allows us to bridge the gap between abstract data and physical reality. My students are now able to take topographic data and turn it into 3D-printed models of local watersheds or even large-scale geological features like the Grand Canyon, providing a hands-on perspective that a textbook simply cannot match.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting aspect for the students has undoubtedly been the AMS (Automatic Material System), which allows the printer to create multi-color models. Seeing a model transition from a digital file on a screen to a physical, multi-colored object right before their eyes has ignited a level of engagement I haven't seen before. They aren't just \"printing toys\"; they are learning about material science, engineering tolerances, and the iterative process of design. When a print finishes, there is a genuine sense of pride as they realize they have successfully navigated the \"design-to-prototype\" pipeline—a skill that is becoming increasingly vital in the modern workforce.\r\n\r\nI've been especially moved by how this technology has reached students who typically struggle with traditional lectures. One student in particular, who often felt disconnected from science because of the heavy reading and writing requirements, has completely transformed into a classroom leader through this project. He took it upon himself to learn the slicing software and has become our \"resident expert,\" helping his peers troubleshoot their designs and manage the printer's settings. Seeing his confidence soar as he applies his spatial reasoning skills has been a highlight of my year. Your donation didn't just buy a piece of equipment; it provided a platform for students of all learning styles to find their voice in the world of STEAMA.","fullyFundedDate":1768528188272,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printing-the-future-environmental-pr/9878910/","projectTitle":"3D Printing the Future: Environmental Prototypes for AP Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10093993_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y68&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753479410851","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10093993"},{"teacherId":10093993,"projectId":9724043,"letterContent":"I want to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible generosity. Coming from a rural, low-income community, my students don't always feel they have access to the same high-tech resources as larger districts, so your gift truly meant the world to them. When the materials first arrived, the classroom was filled with pure excitement; their eyes widened, and there was a tangible sense of pride that someone had invested specifically in their learning. They were absolutely thrilled to finally have the tools to learn about life at a microscopic level, realizing for the first time that there is an entire hidden world functioning right beneath their fingertips.\r\n\r\nWe have hit the ground running with these new resources. A specific moment that stands out was during our first hands-on lab, where a student who usually stays quiet couldn't help but shout for joy when they finally saw a living cell clearly for the first time. They are beginning to understand the massive impact that even the smallest organisms have on our larger ecosystem. This has shifted their perspective from just looking at the \"big picture\" of our rural landscape to appreciating the intricate biological work happening at a smaller level.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve a deep dive into our current ecology project. Now that my students have mastered the equipment, they will be collecting local soil and water samples to analyze the health of our specific environment. Because of your support, they aren't just reading about science in a textbook anymore—they are becoming active researchers in their own community. Thank you for opening their eyes to these new possibilities and for showing them that their curiosity is worth the investment.","fullyFundedDate":1759254455977,"projectUrl":"project/the-world-beneath-our-feet/9724043/","projectTitle":"The World Beneath Our Feet","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10093993_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y68&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753479410851","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10093993"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2651","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":730,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":78.4,"schoolId":2651,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wallace Rose Hill High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wallace Rose Hill High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/duplin-county-school-district/wallace-rose-hill-high-school/2651"}
