When the new materials arrived, my students were immediately curious and excited. Many of them learn best through hands-on and sensory experiences, so seeing the materials sparked so much joy and interest right away.\r\n\r\nOne special moment was during our small-group learning time. My students eagerly explored the new resources, touching, sorting, and using them as part of our lesson. For some of my students who often struggle with focus or communication, these materials helped them stay engaged longer and participate more confidently. Watching them smile, interact, and successfully complete tasks was truly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThe weighted items (stuffed animals/blanket) were super useful, it helps them relax and calm during sensory overload moments. Our reading corner is now visible, and I am happy seeing them explore books while sitting comfortably in the bean bag chair.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue incorporating these materials into our daily routines, small-group instruction, and skill-building activities. We will use them to practice communication, fine motor skills, problem-solving, and social interaction. Your generosity is helping create a classroom environment where my students can learn, explore, and grow with confidence.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and helping make meaningful learning experiences possible!","fullyFundedDate":1765470357342,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-fund-my-self-contained-special-e/9936875/","projectTitle":"Help Me Fund My Self-Contained Special Education Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lasola","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10364810"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65328","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":323,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":25,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":64.0,"schoolId":65328,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wallace Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wallace Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/parker-unified-school-district-27/wallace-elementary-school/65328"}
