The new resources—especially the Legos and puzzles—have become instant favorites, and they're helping my students grow in ways that go far beyond the lessons themselves.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the Legos and puzzles for structured group activities focused on problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity. \r\n\r\nThe puzzles have also become a powerful tool for building focus and teamwork. We've used them in small groups to encourage communication and persistence, and it's been incredible to watch students help each other find pieces, celebrate small victories, and not give up when it gets tough.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using the Legos sets for prizes. Each student has a \"Tracking Sheet\" that they take to all of their classes and get signatures from their teachers, this is used for tacking their goals that meet their IEP's. They have points that they earn and can save up to win prizes for meeting their goals.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the chance to learn through play, work as a team, and feel proud of what they create together. Your gift has truly made a lasting impact.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt thanks,\r\n[Your Name]","fullyFundedDate":1739375272919,"projectUrl":"project/emotional-growth-beyond-academics/9063414/","projectTitle":"Emotional Growth Beyond Academics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7759614"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88145","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":571,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":79.4,"schoolId":88145,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Walker Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Walker Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/salem-keizer-school-district-24j/walker-middle-school/88145"}
