I asked my students what I could do to help them learn in a calm and engaging learning environment and this is what I learned. Although my students are heading to middle school next year they love working on the carpet. I need to take advantage of this and create a learning environment where they have flexible seating and string and fluorescent lights that will contribute to student performance. The physical environment of the classroom is a major contributor on student learning and engagement. I firmly believe that my students will take advantage of the comfortable and relaxing seating that the new seats will provide. One of my students even mentioned how the fluorescent light covers along with the string lights will contribute to creating a welcoming mood without distracting them from their work. I need your help to create a much needed calm learning environment in our classroom! Please help us!
